We are mothers. We're the first up in the morning and usually the last to sleep. We are the "Jills of all trades". We are full time moms, the cooks, the cleans, the house managers, the on-call nurse, the therapist, and the mental coach. We sacrifice our security, desires and careers for these little beings. We understand that their little minds, little hearts, little spirits need love, nurturing, and attention. We are Superwomen; we are mothers... and we love it!

ABOUT IAS:

I Am Superwoman was formed by Precious Stone, seeing a need for more support within the mommy community. I Am Superwoman provides practical support and empowerment to local Mothers in the Fairfield and Westchester County. We've consistently grown since 2015, all thanks to the helping hands of some amazing volunteers, mothers, and the support from local and national companies which provide us the momentum that helps us implement unity, and empower the women that empower our next generation.

The historic town of Litchfield, which takes pride in its rich and significant Colonial and Revolutionary War era heritage, is holding a kickoff bonfire Jan. 10 to officially launch the series of 2026 events celebrating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.

The bonfire, which will take place on North Street Extension in the center of town from 4:45 to 8:15 p.m., also celebrates the 250th anniversary of the publication of Thomas Paine’s pamphlet Common Sense, which advocated for American independence and resonated with colonists through its clear, relatable language.

Top 3 in each category will be awarded as the following: Fastest Time! Most Creative! All boxes must be lined up at the bottom of Thunderbolt in front the outdoor patio at 3pm for judging. Race begins at 3:30pm Rules: This event is free! You may participate individually or on teams.

There are no more than 6 participants on the team. Registration is at Guest Services and will end at 2pm on February 21, 2026 Tickets for the box race are free and must be picked up the day of the race at Guest Services.

Every participant is required to sign a release of liability. Participants under 18 must have a parent sign the release of liability. All cardboard vehicles must be built solely of cardboard, tape, glue, paint and paper. No industrial pressed cardboard, plastic, wood, staples, ropes, twine, or wire will be permitted.

The size of each vehicle is limited to 7 feet long and not more the 5 feet in width and must not exceed 7 feet in height. Cardboard vehicles must have front, rear, and at least two sides. No waxing allowed. All vehicles with participants in the vehicles must cross the finish line to qualify for prizes. Each team is responsible for clearing their vehicle off the mountain. First Place $100, Second Place $50, and Third place $25. Prizes will be awarded to both categories and bragging rights to the top three overall.

This Saturday, January 10th from 11am to 3pm, enjoy a historical event at James L. Goodwin State Forest and Conservation Education Center! In the year of 1939 when World War 2 began, James L. Goodwin was here managing Goodwin State Forest, then called Pine Acres Farm.

In the years that followed, Mr. Goodwin contributed resources from the forest to the war effort. Join Chelsey Knyff from B. Historical for a 2:00pm presentation detailing what Mr. Goodwin did for the war effort. Additionally, from 11:00am to 3:00pm learn about roles of World War 2 less talked about through immersive displays led by the B. Historical team! Free and open to all ages; meet us in the Museum in the white farmhouse!
